Once a year we do it BIG. Open all our wines for the coming year and invite our best friends. If you’re getting this, that includes you. If you’ve been before, you know the drill, and sign up early. We do sell out each year. If you haven’t and are tempted – it is an adventure worth pondering.

The vintage for the reds is 2016, and I think Antonio Galloni nailed the vintage well in his description in Vinous.

“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignons are gorgeous wines endowed with striking aromatic intensity, nuance and depth. Over time, the wines have fleshed out beautifully. The 2016s have decidedly dark flavor profiles similar to 2013 and 2014, but softer curves and more voluptuousness than either of those two vintages. In other words, the 2016s are similar to the 2013s, but with much softer tannins, or the 2014s, but with more textural depth and immediacy. Perhaps most importantly of all, the wines are incredibly delineated in the way they speak to the essence of site. Put simply, at this stage, 2016 is second only to 2013 among the top vintages of this
decade so far.”

—Antonio Galloni

This will be our second Member’s Party at Wheeler Farms.  We learned from the first – which was a blast, and we loved your compliments – but this might be even better.  Wheeler Farms is a very private small state of the art winery built by the Araujo family, where we proudly make our wines.  Everything from the tanks, press, barrel room, optical sorters – is cutting edge.  Though this is our third harvest at Wheeler Farms, everything to me still looks and feels brand new.  And since you will be tasting and taking your time – the view’s not too bad.  Vistas straight up the valley to Mt. St Helena.

There will be exceptional nibbles, music, and always some surprises.  It is our chance to see you and share.  Unlike last year, we are hiring pourers so that we can spend more time with you personally.  Last year you kept us working hard behind the tables.  This year we will be in front, with you, enjoying the wines and your company. So, it is like being in our home in some ways.  Very personal.  We wouldn’t have it any other way.
