Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard was first planted in 1858 by one of Napa Valley’s vintner pioneers, Dr. George Belden Crane.

One of the storied patriarchs of the modern Napa Valley, Andy Beckstoffer

Andy Beckstoffer, curator of many of Napa Valley most history and iconic vineyards purchased the site in 1997, and under his guidance received accolades from critics all over the world for its Cabernet Sauvignons. Just south and on the west side of the town of St Helena, it borders a rock quarry, which defines much of it soils – mostly rock with many gravelly loam sections further from the quarry. Our block is adjacent to the rock quarry and is planted to the rare, and shy yielding Clone 6 of Cabernet Sauvignon.
