We are lucky to have Grant Yeargain, Director of Sales and Hospitality, on the TOR team.
Grant’s passion for hospitality and all things wine is rivaled by few. He looks forward to hosting TOR members in Napa and Beyond!
Born and raised in North County San Diego, Grant grew up in and around the water, but not wine. Grant began his wine career in the heart of Texas, starting in the vineyard and cellar before discovering his penchant for sales and hospitality. He returned to his native California in 2016, taking a position with Hestan Vineyards as Director of Sales and Hospitality. Prior to joining the TOR team in 2022, Grant served as Ambassador to the Americas and DTC Luxury Sales Manager for Penfolds.
Grant has worked with and alongside legendary winemakers such as Thomas Rivers Brown and Peter Gago, now adding Jeff Ames to that list. He holds accreditations with the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.
Grant has learned three key things from Tor in his initial months – persistence, patience, and place. Persistence is mandatory if you are to be successful in the wine industry, and most for that matter. You will constantly be thrown curveballs, adversity, and challenges, whether that’s coming from mother nature or manmade. Patience is key, because rarely does anything in wine come quickly. From the dirt to the barrels, and ultimately the bottle, patience is rewarded in due time. Place…if Tor knows one thing, it’s certainly that great wines come from great sites. The importance of land and vineyards over winemaking is paramount if you are to succeed. Without the best fruit, the best vineyards, farming and genetics, wine will always be an uphill battle (it’s already tough enough).
When not working, Grant enjoys traveling, fishing, golf and discovering great cuisine (normally with a great bottle of wine).
